Humane Society of Central Florida, a no-kill animal shelter at 5859 County Road 545, Winter Garden, seeks volunteers and donations to assist in the care of homeless animals. Items needed include pet food and supplies, newspapers, bleach, and monetary donations. Also requested are appliances, clothing, furniture and toys that can be sold in the shelter's thrift shop. In addition, the shelter offers pet boarding, and dogs and cats are available for adoption. Cost: $25-$50 to adopt a pet. For more information, call (407) 877-7387.
